Join Professor Ron Brown as he continues his series on lost cities and civilizations. No place in the world has inspired more legends of Lost Cities than the Amazon Jungle. The Gurani Indians of the jungles where Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil meet believe that somewhere in their jungle there was a “Tierra sin Mal,” a City Without Evil. For centuries charismatic prophets would emerge who would call on the Gurani to set off on a search for this mythical city. Often tens of thousands of them would disappear into the jungle and were never heard from again. Later Spanish conquistadores, Jesuit missionaries, explorers and adventure seekers would undertake the search only to disappear. Did they find the Lost City Without Evil or were they swallowed up by the jungle?
