As part of the Library's celebration of Women's History Month, join Tanisha Mitchell as she explores Carmen.  Once a controversial opera, Carmen is now the most popular opera performed internationally. Carmen is a timeless representation of love, lust and seduction gone wrong.  In addition to her visual lecture, Ms. Mitchell will also offer an aria performance from Carmen.  Named a "Mover and Shaker" by Library Journal, Tanisha Mitchell is best known for her innovative work in the arts at the Metropolitan Opera and the Freeport Memorial Library.
