Join the Library's own musicologist, Tony Traguardo as he celebrates the 55th Anniversary of the ‘Woodstock Music & Art Fair’ with a program based, in part, on the late legendary New York disc jockey, and author Pete Fornatale’s book ‘The Story of Woodstock: Back to the Garden’. This multimedia program outlines the events that led to, and occurred during, the weekend when over a half a million people gathered in upstate New York for the historic concert festival that has come to be known simply as “Woodstock”. For America’s counter-culture youth, Woodstock became a symbol of more than just sex, drugs and rock and roll – it was a huge declaration and celebration of peace, love, and a new way of living. Tony and Pete developed the original program in 2009, and this newly-revised version contains even more rare audio and video footage from the festival, as well as sound clips from media broadcasts about the event
