Event Details

Ron Brown, who has spent a lifetime travelling the globe, will share his five favorite places in Paris, the City of Light and Love. First is the ancient Roman bath house with its two thousand bath tubs from the time the residents were called the Parisii and the city was called Lutetia. Second is the romantic Latin Quarter where common Parisians have eaten, drank, danced, and gathered since the Middle Ages. Third is is the famous Cafe de Fleur on the Boulevard St. Germain, the oldest cafe in Paris, where artists, musicians, poets, and lonely American tourists have gathered for centuries. Fourth is the monumental Pere Lachaise Cemetery where the souls of Chopin, Edith Piaf and Oscar Wilde still roam free. And fifth is Le Defense the suburb where Paris banished it skyscrapers to keep Paris romantic. Join Dr. Brown in discovering the history of Paris as revealed through these five wonderful places.
