Event Details

In celebration of National Poetry month, the Library is very proud to host Paula Curci, who is the current Nassau County Poet Laureate.  In her lecture she will reflect on how biographical journaling and poetic memoir can foster personal growth and encourage positive dialogue with family and friends.  Paula’s presentation will entertain us with performance poetry, Posics™ (an esthetic style of poetry), as well as storytelling. The audience will have an opportunity to participate by creating their own "I AM" portrait poem and time will be allotted for questions and sharing.  The presentation is part of Paula’s Acoustic Poets Network™ visitation project.

Ms. Curci is the Poet in Residence for WRHU - Radio Hofstra University where she produces Calliope’s Corner - The Place Where Poets and Songwriters Meet and What’s the Buzz ®.  She has been awarded a Gracie and several Press Club of Long Island awards for her work at WRHU.  She has written three chapbooks of poetry and her work has been published in various anthologies.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a 'hybrid' event that can be attended either "In-Person" or "Online" on the Zoom platform. You can choose which option you wish to register for below in the "Do you want to attend in-person or online?" dropdown menu below.
