In celebration of Native American Heritage Month join museum educator Alice W. Schwarz for a discussion on the Met’s exhibition Water Memories which explores water’s significance to Indigenous peoples and Nations in the United States through historical, modern, and contemporary artworks. The works collectively reveal how—across time and place—water provides nourishment, sanctuary, and healing while also activating protest, conflict, and complex dialogue. (Sponsored by the Friends of the Library)
