Do you wish we you were spending April in Paris? Well here's a way you can virtually travel there. Join film historian Max Alvarez for this multimedia study of how filmmakers have captured the City of Light over the past century, from the romanticized to the boldly realistic. Selections range from such Hollywood love letters as Funny Face and Midnight in Paris to grittier portrayals by French masters Jean Renoir (Boudu Saved From Drowning), François Truffaut (The 400 Blows), Jean-Luc Godard (Breathless), Agnès Varda (Cléo from 5 to 7), Jean-Pierre Melville (Le Samouraï), and Jean-Jacques Beineix (Diva). As an added bonus, viewers will learn specific street locations used in these and other iconic Paris-themed films.
