This is a special program with Dr. William Hausdorff, PhD (The Johns Hopkins Univ/NIH) who has worked on the development, clinical evaluation, registration, implementation and post-marketing assessment of a variety of vaccines to prevent major public health problems for 30 years. Dr. Hausdorff will explain the very latest information about the COVID-19 virus, the new variants and the effectiveness of the vaccines. While working with the CDC, two vaccine developers, and now with an international public health NGO, Dr. Hausdorff has made significant contributions to the development of highly effective vaccines, especially those that target a major bacterial cause of pneumonia, meningitis, and middle ear infection. Almost all the countries in the world use these vaccines in their childhood immunization programs. He is the author of over 90 scientific articles on the epidemiology of infectious diseases and the role of vaccines. In addition to the presentation, Dr. Hausdorff answers questions from the audience.
