Program Description

Event Details

Part Three of the Five-Part series continues to introduce participants to the knowledge necessary to grow vegetables and herbs successfully in their home gardens. Topics will include annual vs. perennials, heirlooms vs. hybrids, companion planting, crop rotation, crop support structures, and pruning. (The series continues on Mar. 8th and Mar. 15th)

This 5 part series will be presented by Master Gardeners from Nassau County Cornell Cooperative Extension and Plant A Row for the Hungry Port Washington. Home Gardening is more critical than ever. During this pandemic, fresh produce has been very difficult to obtain – supermarket shelves emptied as soon as they were filled. Even if you never gardened before, growing your own vegetables successfully is possible, once you know the basics. Join us for this important 5-part series in February and March, preparing you to grow your own delicious vegetables and herbs. All sessions have time for Q & A.
