High School 101 provides parents and students with a grade-by-grade look at expectations and requirements for high school with a focus on preparing students for post-secondary education and success. Participants will leave with an understanding of NYS graduation requirements, tips on course selection, the role of standardized testing, the test-optional policy, parent and student rights, and the ever-changing world of post-pandemic college admissions among many other topics. Diego Contreras is a life-long educator who began his career with the New York State Education Department. Currently, a high school counselor licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, Diego has developed a comprehensive guide for parents looking for more information about the ins and outs of high school.
