We salute the British actor, who was born on May 26, 1913, with a screening of the British telefilm, "Nineteen Eighty-Four" (1954-107 min.). Cushing plays Winston Smith, who runs afoul of the futuristic government by committing the ultimate "thought crime": he falls in love! Andre Morell, Yvonne Mitchell and Donald Pleasence co-star. Screenwriter Nigel (Quatermass) Neale adapted George Orwell's novel for producer Rudolph Cartier.
