Event Details

Join us for Food Day, a nationwide celebration of healthy, affordable and sustainably-produced food, and a grassroots campaign for better food policies. Nutritionist and program coordinator Jill Eisenberg, MS, RD, CDN, will focus on how to “eat real” and moderate the evening. We will screen “Food Evolution,” a 2016 documentary film narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson, which uses the issue of genetically-modified food to spark a fact-based public dialogue about our food system. Patti Wood of Grassroots Environment Education will lead a discussion after the film and a local organic farmer will provide their perspective on GMOs. Food educator and whole foods chef Bhavani Jaroff will make a delicious ending to the evening by providing a cooking demonstration and tasting including seasonal organic vegetables. Sponsored by PWPL Heath Advisory Council.
