Growing your own herbs and vegetables is not only possible but very rewarding - emotionally, financially and nutritionally. Join us for this exciting 5-part series, which will get you started and teach you where to find the reliable information you need to be successful. Part 3 of 5: The series continues with design principles for getting the most out of the space and growing time you have to insure a productive season. Things to consider include annuals vs. perennials, heirlooms vs. hybrids, all the topics in the title, and the importance of compost and mulch. New Content for 2022: The Power of Square Foot Gardening.

Each session will be led by a Master Gardener volunteer from the Nassau County Cornell Cooperative Extension, and is co-sponsored by Plant-A-Row for the Hungry Port Washington. This program series is appropriate for people at all knowledge levels. Every session has time for Q & A. These programs will not be recorded.
