Film: "Somers Town"

(2008-70 min.). Two teenagers – runaway Tomo (Thomas Turgoose) and Polish immigrant Marek (Piotr Jagiello) – form and unlikely friendship over the course of a hot summer. Shane Meadows directed this British production, from a screenplay by Paul Fraser. Also, a boy chances upon a new pair of shoes in Paul Cotter’s short, Odd Shoe (2008-10 min.). This screening comes to us from Film Movement, an organization which makes outstanding foreign films, independent films and documentaries available to educational institutions.
