This year's summer reading theme, "The Adventure Begins in Your Library," will take us to far away lands where we can enjoy adventures out at sea with buccaneers, pirates and hidden treasure. Look for several film screenings through July and August celebrating this theme.
First up is The Sea Hawk (1940 - 127 min.), starring Errol Flynn as Capt. Geoffrey Thorpe, who escapes captivity to warn England of Spain's armada. This classic film of royal intrigue and derring-do also stars Brenda Marshall and Claude Rains, and was directed by Michael Curtiz.
