Early Hitchcock: A 4-part series with film historian Philip Harwood. Program 2: "The Man Who Knew Too Much"

Film historian and librarian Phillip Harwood will present and discuss four films from the early years of the career of the Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock. Tonight he presents The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934. 75 min.) On a family vacation in Switzerland, a husband and wife (Leslie Banks and Edna Best) learn about a proposed assassination and then must deal with the kidnapping of their daughter (Nova Pilbeam). Peter Lorre co-stars in this, the first of two versions directed by Hitch.

These virtual programs will begin on Zoom with a 10 minute introduction with film historian and librarian Phillip Harwood. You can then follow a link to Hoopla to watch the film remotely for free. Afterwards, return to Zoom at the designated time for further discussion of the film.
