Susan Isaacs, Port’s own best-selling author, will discuss her brand-new novel, Takes One to Know One, at a special Friends of the Library program on Sunday, October 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the Lapham Meeting Room.

Described as Susan Isaacs at her formidable best, Takes One to Know One is Susan’s 14th novel; it will be released on October 1. The plot involves a whip-smart suburban mystery revolving around a retired FBI agent turned into a Long Island housewife who suspects that her neighbor is harboring criminal secrets. Advance reviews call Takes One to Know One ” bitingly wry” and “ominously thrilling.”

The author of 13 best-selling novels and an e-book novella, Susan Isaacs has also produced screenplays for two films: Compromising Positions, adapted from her novel, and Hello Again. She is the recipient of the Writers for Writers Award and the John Steinbeck Award. Past president of Mystery Writers of America, she is now chairman of the board of the literary organization Poets & Writers.

“Celebrating Susan Isaacs” will begin at 2:30 in the Lapham Meeting Room. Following the program, the Friends invites the audience to a reception honoring Susan in the adjacent Karen and Ed Adler Art Gallery. Takes One to Know One will be for sale at PWPL by Dolphin Book Shop, and Susan will be signing.

Guests are encouraged to come early to be sure to get a seat. Port Washington residents are given priority until 10 minutes before the program begins.
