Join Alan Richards, whose artwork is currently on display in the Library's Adler Gallery, as he offers a presentation about the current exhibit. Richards's art is primarily photomontage. It uses multiple photographs, segments of images, drawings, vectors, or clips that are fused to create a single composite artwork. The artwork may be playful, satirical, or of a more serious nature. He tries to tell a story with each new picture.  The artwork represents the human condition. It reflects how he views personal events and the interaction between people and the world. He either takes the component photos himself or uses archival/ found/vintage photos as the basis of his work. The works are supplemented by digital drawing or painting to bring the various elements into a cohesive new final image. He tries to give the viewer an opportunity to bring their own feelings and interpretations to the works by producing images that often may have ambiguous elements, multiple meanings, and some surprises.
