Art Lecture with Alice Schwarz - A Closer Look: Last Moments of John Brown by Thomas Hovenden

Join museum educator Alice W. Schwarz for an in depth exploration of the painting, 'The Last Moments of John Brown' by Thomas Hovenden.  Although painted in the 1880s, by and for an abolitionist, this work illustrates a controversial event leading up to the American Civil War and the hopes of ending slavery.  This program is scheduled in recognition of the Juneteenth holiday.
