Greek-American Annet Artani is recording artist, a triple platinum singer-songwriter, animal advocate and rescuer, and published children's book writer. Annet and a group of local musicians, including members of the band Snapper Head, will perform a set of songs that pay tribute to ‘The Women of Soul’ on Saturday, June 25th at 4:30pm at the Sousa Band Shell at Sunset Park, located on Lower Main Street near the Town Dock.
Annet Artani started her career at New York City songwriter circles, but was soon hired to tour the world with Britney Spears. That relationship led to Annet co-writing the hit song ‘Everytime’ with Spears, which went number one all over the world. Annet eventually landed herself on a Greek TV show, turning into a household name in that country. A tour of Europe and Australia as a Greek recording artist would follow. Annet won the opportunity to represent Cyprus in the Eurovision song contest in 2006, and performed her piece in the country’s Olympic stadium. After a few years overseas, Annet decided to return home, where she signed with Ultra Records in New York. She currently writes and performs music, writes and illustrates children's books, and devotes her time to animal rescue and being a mom to her six-year-old son.
