Friends of the Library Meeting

Teens, test your knowledge of pop culture. This month's themes are:  Name That Rapper and Name That Actor/Actress. Each participant will receive a small prize and the winner will receive the grand prize. 

A lap-sit story time with songs, music and bouncing rhymes that emphasizes early literacy skills.  For children ages birth to 17 months. Admittance is on a first-come, first-served basis.  

Join your favorite librarians at Blumenfeld Park (across the street from the library) for Park Story Time! No registration required.

Children will work together to design and build a satellite and learn about developing an engineering mindset. For children in 4th to 6th grade.

Please join us for a series a Chair Yoga classes led by certified instructor Beth Lipset. Classes will be held from 12:30 -- 1:30 beginning January 22, and running through May 20 (no class on February 19 or April 22).

Homework Help for Elementary school children

Is your child struggling with their Elementary or Middle school homework? The Port Washington Public Library ESOL department provides a Homework Help Program in which your child will be tutored by an academic achieving high school volunteer.

Ignite the love of coding by learning to create animations and computer games using Scratch, a graphical programming language developed by MIT.

Come to the library and listen to the new Taylor Swift album, Tortured Poets Department, while making your own TS themed bookmarks. This album may make us cry, but we can cry while crafting.

Please join us for a series of exercise classes incorporating yoga, Pilates and stretching. Marlene Kirsh, athletic trainer and certified Pilates instructor, will lead the sessions.

Learn the rules and strategies of chess and practice what you have learned by playing against your peers. For children in 3rd to 6th grade. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library in memory of Lawrence Kamisher.

This class teaches 3rd-5th grade students the basics of AI. Students will train a computer to distinguish between items that do and do not belong in the ocean.
