Join Ines Powell for an illustrated discussion of the British Museum, a public institution in London, dedicated to documenting the history of human culture from its beginnings to the present. It was founded in 1753, and was largely based on the collections of the physician and scientist Sir Hans Slone. This lecture will concentrate on several of the highlights of the collection, including the Rosetta Stone and the Parthenon Sculptures. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
