Join Professor Val Franco for an exploration into master painters of Spain, as we examine the life and works of Artists from Spain's Golden Age. We will look at specific images from several artists, some on the level of rock stars, like Velazquez, others lauded by their contemporaries for the beauty of their work like Lo Spagnoletto and Murillo. We will investigate and compare their various styles and subject matter, while also reveling in the realism, dynamism & stories behind their creations. We will also discuss the controversial symbolism behind one of Velazquez' most famous portraits.
