Cotton is a touching tribute, honoring the journey of the African-American slave through spirituals, art and slave narratives. As part of the Library's celebration of Black History Month this presentation by Tanisha Mitchell will highlight some slave narratives in a touching audiovisual tribute. In addition, this special program will include Ms. Mitchell singing a spiritual live for the audience. Tanisha has been named a "Mover and Shaker" by Library Journal, and she is best known for her innovative work in the arts at the Metropolitan Opera and the Freeport Memorial Library.
