Part Three - Getting the Most Out of the Season

Planning before the season starts is the best way to maximize the output from the area you have designated for growing food. This involves deciding what you want to grow, how long it needs to stay in the ground, what it can be planted with (or not with), how to prepare the bed for the crop to follow it, and how to tend to the soil so it is always nourished. Learn how to manage all these moving pieces.

(Please note this video will only be available for a limited time)

Topics that will be covered in this session include companion planting, succession planting and cover cropping. Each session is led by accomplished gardener Bea Helft, who is a Board Member of Plant-A-Row for the Hungry Port Washington. This series is appropriate for people at all knowledge levels.
