This important program will provide the most up to date information about what specific steps everyone should take to be prepared for the next natural disaster. As a waterfront community it is important to recognize the risks and vulnerabilities that a changing climate pose to our peninsula, and to be as prepared as possible. The presentation will review the current flood maps of Port Washington, as well as maps showing the extent of flooding during Superstorm Sandy. In addition, this presentation, led by David Jakim and Paul Merkelson will also explore what actions citizens and communities as a whole can take to prepare for an increase in the frequency and intensity of severe weather and storms. Find out what steps are needed to make our community as resilient as possible in light of the increasing risks of climate change.
