On this episode of 'Tony T's Tune Talk', the Port Washington Public library's resident musicologist Tony Traguardo talks about some of popular music's most famous banned songs of the 1960s. Over the years, many popular musicians and performers have faced the wrath of churches, special interest groups, and overprotective broadcasters and have had one or more of their songs BANNED! Work that they had spent months or even years producing was somehow prohibited from being played on the radio or on television. And even though some viewers have grown up in an era where so many songs on your iTunes playlist have the word ‘Explicit’ next to them, this video will offer just a little taste of how different things once were.
