Join Professor Val Franco for a look at the Impressionists, the Italian Impressionists, that is. After a brief introduction to the ideals behind French Impressionism & the Movement's heavy hitters, such as Suerat, Degas, and Cassatt, we will delve into the beauty and detail of the images created by their Italian counterparts, those wonderful Italian Impressionists known as I Macchiaioli. Their presentation of dappled sunshine, inviting shade and brilliant light moved art into an entirely new, and breathtaking, direction.
