At three prominent locations within the Met Museum where major paths intersect, new installations, drawn from diverse areas of the collection will examine the idea of cultural interconnectedness. Join museum educator, Alice W. Schwarz for the second in a series of three discussions of Crossroads an exhibition that explores shared ideas and artistic forms from around the world. This second talk delves into 4th-15th centuries artworks from Africa, The Americas, Asia and Europe. Connected through trade and war these objects in stone, wood, and paint convey political authority, spiritual power, and acts of devotion.
