This is a Facebook Live event that the Library is co-hosting. Earlier this year Tennessee Walt had been scheduled to do a live performance at the Library. And while that may not be possible, here's a way to enjoy his live performance from the safety and comfort of your home. Click [HERE](https://www.facebook.com/tennesseewalt) to join the event at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5th, or visit the Library's Facebook page

“Tennessee Walt’s ‘Christmas in a Distant Country’” will be coming your way, live on the internet, on Saturday, December 5, at 2 p.m. We won’t be doing Christmas carols or religious music, of course—this is classic country, like all Tennessee Walt shows, so you can expect to hear such songs as Ernest Tubb’s classic “Blue Christmas,” Merle Haggard’s “If We Make It Through December” and Buck Owens’ “Santa Looked a Lot Like Daddy,” as well as a few originals oriented toward the holidays. It won’t all be holiday music, though: We’ll also be handing out some Christmas presents in the form of country songs requested (in advance) by viewers, and delivering a few surprises as well.
