The discussion about classic 'story songs' continues! 'We have had such a great response to our 'Story Song' round table talks that the Port Washington Public Library's resident musicologist Tony Traguardo has prepared a third playlist. Story songs' and 'ballads' have been around in popular music in America since the 1920s, and they've been a part of the folk tradition since the 1600s. Be forewarned that this list contains its fair share of tragedies, though some songs do touch upon on a wider range of emotions.
