Soundswap

Join host Tony Traguardo for a SoundSwap event featuring the Manhasset-based band Snapper Head.

Snapper Head was formed in early 2019 by lifelong friends and former band mates who joined forces to create a powerful, hard-hitting, four-piece group that showcases their favorite songs from an eclectic variety of artists.

Johnny Vlahos, front and center on piano and electric Hammond B3, has been playing and writing songs since childhood and, as he says, “I’m just getting started”. Shawn Martin is a unique, soulful, funky, self-taught musician taken to playing just about anything with strings. On drums is Dave Ciolino-Volano, a percussive freight train with a dedication to deep grooves and a deep pocket. His creative approach adds incredible energy and dynamic to everything he plays. All the way at the bottom is Patrick Polcari, whose heavy and unique approach to the bass reflects influences ranging from 70’s funk to The Allman Brothers. Together they are Snapper Head, a fun and exciting unit that loves nothing more than playing music that makes audiences feel good.

For their library debut, the band will be joined by special guests Briana Delach and Matt Phillips. Briana is a skilled vocalist who has sung for several bands in New York CIty, and has performed the National Anthem for the New York Islanders. Matt is a talented master of multiple guitar tones and styles, whose solos push the band to new heights.

Snapper Head promises that our library audience will be treated to some of their favorites of the finest, and funkiest songs of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, so come prepared to dance a Fall night away!
