Have you ever wondered where Broadway shows come from? Or how you can see shows develop before your eyes?  The Port Washington Public Library is very happy to announce staged readings of three original shows that will be performed during the month of January in front of a live audience.  We will be offering two plays and one musical produced under the auspices of The Farm (We Grow Theater!), a project of MW Entertainment Group.  The Farm commissions and develops the works of new writers on their way to success.

On Saturday, January 14 join us for ALWAYS, WILDE, a new comedy. Starring Will Lyman, Collin Kelly-Sordelet, and Paul L. Coffey.  By Grant MacDermott. Directed by Marshall Jones III.  History tells us that on a cold day in January 1882, a young not-yet-quite-famous Oscar Wilde ventured to meet an aging Walt Whitman at his home in Camden, New Jersey. The public meeting downstairs was well documented but when the two men went upstairs alone is where fact becomes fiction and speculation just might be the truth after all.

Each of these performances will be an opportunity to enjoy live theater produced by Broadway professionals, and performed by professional actors, all of whom appear courtesy of the Actor’s Equity Association.  (Please note that registration is required and priority will be given to Port Washington Library card holders)

Wearing a mask throughout the performance is strongly encouraged.
