As part of the Library's celebration of Black History Month, please join opera expert Tanisha Mitchell for an audio visual presentation that will pay tribute to legendary African American singers who performed at prestigious venues like the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, and the Royal Opera House. Sound clips featuring Marian Anderson, Leontyne Price, Paul Robeson, and George Shirley will be included. Named a "Mover and Shaker" by Library Journal, Tanisha Mitchell is best known for her innovative work in the arts at the Metropolitan Opera and the Freeport Memorial Library. This special program will feature an aria performed by Ms. Mitchell.

Please note that this will be a hybrid event. Participants are invited to join us in person or via zoom.
