Sandwiched In: Window Onto Bach’s Baroque

The great master composer Johann Sebastian Bach has been called the “lawgiver” among musicians. Demonstrating from our Steinway piano, conductor and professor (Juilliard Evening Division; Mannes School of Music) Dr. Mark Shapiro will take listeners on a brief, lively and understandable tour of Bach’s musical forms and techniques in a journey through the beautiful Christmas Oratorio, which Shapiro will conduct in Carnegie Hall on December 14 at 8 pm. Course attendees will receive a special code for discounted tickets to this performance.
