Film historian Philip Harwood continues his series celebrating actors and filmmakers born one hundred years ago. Tonight, Jennifer Jones (March 2, 1919 - December 17, 2009) stars opposite Van Heflin, Louis Jourdan and James Mason in Vincente Minnelli’s adaptation of Gustave Flaubert’s Madame Bovary (1949-114 min.), about a married woman’s longing for romance.
