An educator from the Cold Spring Harbor Museum will discuss one of their current exhibits "Heroines at the Helm." What if your husband was Captain of a whaleship, travelling for up to five years at a time? Would you opt to stay home and take care of the family alone, or brave the journey alongside him? Hear some of the harrowing tales of real life women that made such difficult choices. Learn about some of the local heroines that endured harsh conditions and dangerous expeditions across unchartered territory.
