The plays the thing, but what if the town is the play? Is it ground breaking theatre or a new form of very immersive group therapy? Join ProfValFranco for a look at this engaging Italian documentary that takes us to the small Tuscan hamlet of Monticchiello. With only 118 residents, this tiny town has managed to create & stage a new play every year since the 1960s! With Italy's tremendous love of theatre, its no wonder that every single resident, no matter how young or old, is involved in the annual production, with stages set up throughout the town, and audiences coming from all over to experience this theatrical veritè spectacle. Insightful, funny, with beautiful images of Tuscany, this film is an interesting look at a town that has interpreted the idea that all the world's a stage in a whole new way. In Italian with English subtitles.
