Italian films with Val Franco are back and tonight we're exploring society's obsession with reality television. From internationally acclaimed director Matteo Garrone (Gomorra) comes this modern nod to Fellini, a surreal exploration of people's love affair with fame and tv. A fishmonger, devoted dad & faithful husband, well known & beloved in his small Italian village, becomes obsessed with appearing on a reality TV show. Once it seems that he has a shot at the big time, he stops at nothing to get his 15 minutes of fame. In Italian with English subtitles.

Available for free on Kanopy through the library. We will meet at 7 PM on zoom for the intro to the film then you will watch the film on your own device and we will meet back at approximately 9:15 on the same zoom link for the follow-up lecture and Q & A.
