Award Winning Stage and Film Director, Stephen Nachamie will explore several controversial works of theatre that were banned, including Sholem Asch’s turn of the 20th Century play God of Vengeance, Lillian Hellman’s The Children's Hour, Mae West’s plays Sex and The Drag, as well as Moises Kaufman’s The Laramie Project. Mr. Nachamie will take a look at the importance of theatre in creating opportunities for conversations on controversial topics.  This program is part of the Library's recognition of Banned Books Week.
