Event Details

Join us at Landmark on Main Street for a moving intergenerational author event with Holocaust survivor Leo Ullman as he tells his story and discusses his illustrated memoir, Leo, A Hidden Child in WWII.  Leo Ullman's illustrated memoir tells his story of being a young Jewish child, not yet three years old, separated from his parents and forced into hiding in Amsterdam during the Holocaust. His parents hid in an attic elsewhere, unaware of their son's whereabouts or safety. They survived, reunited after the War, and landed in Port Washington in 1947.

His memoir is illustrated by Port Washington artist Michelle Shain, who will join Mr. Ullman in conversation.  The book is geared towards older children and adults. Families are welcome to attend. Suggested for children in 5th grade and older. Books will be available for purchase and signing.  This event is co-sponsored by the Port Washington Public Library, Landmark on Main Street and the Friends of the Library.

CLICK HERE to visit the Landmark's website to reserve a seat.  Tickets for this event are free.  There is an option to purchase a copy of the book when you reserve your ticket.

If for some reason you are not able to attend in person, the event will be live-streamed.
