Actress Myrna Loy, born this day in 1905, stars in Manhattan Melodrama (1934-93 min.). W.S. Van Dyke II directed this tale of a woman loved by a gangster (Clark Gable) and a district Attorney (William Powell in his first of many pairings with Myrna). This was the movie that John Dillinger saw before being gunned down outside Chicago's Biograph Theatre.
