Guitar Lessons

Free acoustic guitar lessons for the absolute beginner is back in January 2020! NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! This season, due to popular demand, there will now be four successive one-hour classes. During the lessons, you’ll be taught: learning methods that do not require you to read music; songs played one note at a time, and others with chord sequences; well-known songs. To participate, bring your own acoustic guitar (no electric guitars and/or amplifiers allowed), be fourteen or older, and register for all four classes (each lesson picks up where the previous one left off). All classes begin at 7:15 pm, last for one hour, and will take place on these dates: Mon. Jan. 6, Mon. Jan. 13, Thurs. Jan. 23 and Tues. Jan. 28. Also this season – we are now accepting a maximum of twelve students. Spots are reserved quickly, so try to sign up - in-person, by phone, or via the Library website - on Dec. 11, 2019 at 11:00 am, which is the day and time that registration opens. Classes are open to Port Washington Public Library cardholders only. Library card number required for registration.
