For the 2023 series, each session will go beyond the basic concepts introduced in previous sessions and will delve into 5 topics in depth to inspire you and increase your productivity and success.

Part One - Starting Seeds, Indoors and Out.

Not all vegetables have enough time to mature here on Long Island - some seeds need to be started ahead of the growing season. Traditional indoor techniques require lots of equipment, but outdoor techniques require almost none! Learn what seeds need to be started early, and how to do it in a way that fits your time, budget and energy. Bonus – How to grow sprouts and microgreens.

Each session will be led by longtime vegetable gardener Bea Helft, who is a Board Member of Plant a Row for the Hungry Port Washington. This series is appropriate for people at all knowledge levels. These sessions will be virtual only on Zoom.  Please note registration is required and you can register once and can attend any of the meetings. This series is sponsored by Plant a Row for the Hungry Port Washington.
