Growing your own herbs and vegetables is not only possible but very rewarding - emotionally, financially and nutritionally. Join us for this exciting 5-part series, which will get you started and teach you where to find the reliable information you need to be successful. Part 1 of 5: This session will explain why growing produce is an antidote to climate change, and how easy it is to be successful. Learning about the types of vegetables that grow well on Long Island and how to get started begins the process. Questions about starting plants from seed or buying starts will also be addressed. Each session will be led by a Master Gardener volunteer from the Nassau County Cornell Cooperative Extension, and is co-sponsored by Plant-A-Row for the Hungry Port Washington. This program series is appropriate for people at all knowledge levels. Every session has time for Q & A. These programs will not be recorded.
Please note registration is required for those wishing to attend this virtual series on Zoom. You can register once and can attend any of the meetings.
