Growing your own herbs and vegetables is not only possible but very rewarding - emotionally, financially and nutritionally. Join us for this exciting 5-part series, which will get you started and teach you where to find the reliable information you need to be successful. Part 5 of 5: The final part of the series will explain how to know when your herbs and vegetables are ready to be picked. Taking advantage of your abundant harvest means preserving some of it for the fall, winter and early spring until next year’s garden is ready to produce. Along the way you’ll learn about some master gardeners’ favorite tools to make light(er) work of garden chores. New Content for 2022: Tips for Preserving Vegetables and Herbs.

Each session will be led by a Master Gardener volunteer from the Nassau County Cornell Cooperative Extension, and is co-sponsored by Plant-A-Row for the Hungry Port Washington. This program series is appropriate for people at all knowledge levels. Every session has time for Q & A. These programs will not be recorded.
