This year's summer reading theme, "The Adventure Begins in Your Library," will take us to far away lands where we can enjoy adventures out at sea with buccaneers, pirates and hidden treasure. Look for several film screenings through July and August celebrating this theme.
Today's feature is Treasure Island (1950 - 96 min.), one of Walt Disney's most critically acclaimed adventure classics and first all-live action feature, starring Bobby Driscoll as young Jim Hawkins and Robert Newton as Long John Silver. Join us as Robert Louis Stevenson's timeless tale of buccaneers and buried treasure is brought to life on the big screen.
