Film "Rothko's Rooms"

(2000-60 min.) Painter Mark Rothko (1903-1970) built his reputation during the post-WWII years for his broadly-scaled abstract paintings. Rothko's work, with its layered shapes, colors and textures, elicit a spectrum of raw emotion. David Thompson's documentary features interviews with the artist's children, friends and colleagues, as well as art historians.
