Film: "The Fighter"

(2010-115 min.). Boxer Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg) has long been overshadowed by his older brother and trainer, Dicky Eklund (Christian Bale), a local legend battling his own demons. Their explosive relationship threatens to take them both down. However, the bond of blood may be their only chance to redeem themselves. Bale earned an Oscar, as did Melissa Leo for her role as Micky's mother, Alice; Amy Adams was nominated for playing Micky's girlfriend, Charlene. Screenwriters Scott Silver, Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson and Keith Dorrington were also Oscar nominated, as was director David O. Russell.
