This year's summer reading theme, "The Adventure Begins in Your Library," will explore adventures at sea, including the 2013 film, Captain Phillips (134 min.) based on the true story of the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama by a crew of Somali pirates.  This pulse-pounding film stars two-time Academy Award winner, Tom Hanks as Captain Richard Phillips and Barkhad Abdi as Muse, the Somali pirate captain.

Look for several film screenings through July and August celebrating this theme.
